Your Name

I know your name
It used to be as close
As my own
It kissed my lips
And stayed for a while
Not uninvited, but safe
Secure in the invisible
But that’s trust
To fall without looking
Hands in the air
Slipping away
Because you’re not here
And I’m left wanting
A name split in two
I have the second half
Cleansed in tears
Washed with apathy
And left out to dry
Like you left me
With your name
On my lips
Always on my lips
Until you just exist
As a whisper of a shadow
Of someone I used to know
When we were special
But that was long ago
And I still know your name.
