“Believe in me. Believe in nothing. Corner me and make me something. I’ve become the hollow man. Have I become the hollow man I see?” ~R.E.M.
I believe in miracles
The kind that sparkle
Twinkling like fairy wings
This splendid fascination
So treacly sweet
Tied up in homage
And fantastic dreams
Miracles full of fire
Fresh as morning dew
Crafted from hope
Desperate and childish
To fill this blank space
Hollowed out over time
A subconscious response
To this realistic malaise
These short-lived miracles
Wrapped in tissue paper
As hollow as my soul
On its way to heaven.
