What I’ve Learned from Bucky

Yes, that’s a cat, and the fact that his ears are eternally back should tell you all you need to know about Bucky. Just like all cats who share a home with dogs, Bucky takes out his frustrations on the simpleton Satchel, who is a mutt and proud of it. They are the erstwhile stars of the hilariously funny comic, Get Fuzzy. Bucky has some laugh out loud one-liners that make me… laugh out loud. Literally.

What I enjoy most about Bucky is his belief that he’s so much smarter than everyone else, even though he has horrible spelling issues, he doesn’t know what the Hippocratic oath is, and he thinks he’s ascended from royalty. Most of his jokes about others are funny specifically because of his ignorance. Oh, and his mortal enemy is a ferret named Fungo who lives next door and who thinks Bucky is the bee’s knees.

Here’s what I’ve learned from Bucky:

• Never get caught in an argument about soccer
• Always wear a hat that fits
• Beware a quiet room
• Car ornaments can be worn around the neck
• Cats who memorize credit card numbers can be dangerous
• Never argue with an idiot
• Dogs will believe anything you tell them
• Beware the slap from behind
• Correct spelling is optional
• Humans are all idiots
• The world is, indeed, flat
• Self-obsession is not attractive
• Never argue with an idiot
