Funny how some days the talk around the water cooler is pretty standard fare, like who got to bed late last night and why, like which TV shows are funny and which ones are overrated, or like the crazy things that go on at our jobs. So of course today we had a rousing time … Continue reading Water Cooler Musings: On Translating
Everybody has a story about a relationship that started out with such promise. You know the kind, where he says all the right things, where she is perfection in motion, and where you know from the very start that it’s going to be your “happily ever after.” And then when everything falls apart you’re standing … Continue reading Water Cooler Musings: Dead-End Relationships
I think I’m funny. I’m one of those people who comes up with witticisms on the spur of the moment and they just spill right out. I think that did enough to call off the lynch mob, but just barely. Continue reading “Water Cooler Musings: Pretty/Hot”
Guilty as charged. The jury wasn’t even very long in deliberations today. The water cooler has spoken, and I am amused by its decision. Today around the water cooler we talked about the guilty pleasures we have in life, and why they make us feel guilty. The Bachelorette. What can I say? I absolutely love … Continue reading Weekly Water Cooler Musings: On Guilty Pleasures
“Ignorance is bliss.” I have no idea who said that little piece of wisdom up there, but sometimes I think it’s completely true, and other times I think it’s the single lamest thing I have ever seen. I mean, honestly, being ignorant can’t possibly be blissful. Case in point: when you’re driving down the street … Continue reading Water Cooler Musings: On Ignorance
