We all love food in some way or another. While we may not be overjoyed over breakfast, maybe we’re a lunch or dinner fanatic. Even though we might not enjoy a five-course gourmet meal, we probably like a bagel with cream cheese to tide us over. Whatever our tastes are, food is something that brings people together. I ate out at a restaurant for lunch today and I noticed a wide variety of people also eating there. Along with music, food is probably what most people have in common. It’s a love/hate relationship, too, because if we eat too much or if we have a poor diet, we could end up unhealthy, sick, overweight, or underweight. So, I thought about my top 5 favorite foods, and I thought I would share them with you.
5. Ice cream
Please don’t ask me which flavor is my favorite because I know there has to be another one out there I haven’t tried yet, but I’ll tell you which ones I don’t like. Anything with peanut butter is definitely out because I abhor peanuts and all peanut products. Everything else is fair game. My newest favorites include Birthday Cake, Waffle Cone, and Oreo.
4. Quesadilla
I don’t know how she does it, but my wife makes the most delicious quesadillas I’ve ever had. Of course they’re meatless, but she makes some with veggies in them that are scrumptious, some with refried beans that are awesome, and some with just cheese that are the best as well.
3. Pizza
Need I say more? Homemade pizza with fresh mushrooms is the best.
2. Eggplant parmesan
My mother says my homemade eggplant parm should be in a restaurant. I don’t agree, but I enjoy it just the same.
1. Macaroni and cheese
Mmmmmmm. And that boxed stuff isn’t macaroni and cheese. Honestly, I don’t see how anyone can get away with even using the name on those boxes. Yech. Of course my oldest daughter won’t eat anything but the boxed imitation. She thinks all cheese should be orange, and come in powdered form. I’ll keep the real deal for myself. And I don’t care if it’s baked or not. It’s still yummy!
You would be right if you noticed how much I love cheese. The top 4 items on my list are heavy on the cheese, and that’s for good reason. Now, don’t worry. I don’t eat them every single night. I do care a little bit about my arteries and congestion, but I just love them so much. I generally save eggplant parm for special occasions, and I make it myself. I’m very picky when it comes to my eggplant parm. That’s what I get for being a card-carrying vegetarian, I guess. Which foods are your favorites?
Sam
I agree on all these foods, but personally, you know I would add some form of meat. I do not argue with your position, I just feel differently.
Peace be unto you.
I have no problem with other people eating meat. I’m not some kind of fanatic raging against animal abuse. I just personally don’t eat it. So, enjoy the meat on your list, Daryl! Good to hear from you.
I like all of these foods but try to avoid all of them, lol. I don’t eat much meat, either, but I do like chicken in pasta on occasion. I love certain salads and lately am a huge fan of candy corn. In small doses, of course. I told you I have a sweet tooth. 😉
In small doses. Of course. 😉 LOL. Suuuuure. I know what you mean about trying to avoid foods like that, but I’m a sucker for eggplant parm!
