“Know what you love so that you can bask in it for as long as is humanly possible.”
Do you know what you love? For some people it can be a job, or an animal, or a cause, or an article of clothing. It could be just about anything, but love is a very strong word. There shouldn’t be too many things that you love, or maybe you should consider that you don’t really know what love is. According to dictionary.com, love is “to have a strong liking for; take great pleasure in.” So, you can like many things, but when the feeling goes even further, that’s when it’s love.
What I love:
1) My family, which includes my immediate family as well as my extended family.
2) Writing, which includes every single form of writing I’ve ever done.
3) Music, in all its various forms and with all of its nuances.
4) My friends, which includes even those I haven’t spoken with in a while.
5) Reading, because it takes me to worlds I would probably never inhabit otherwise.
That’s it. And I’m glad it’s a small list. If I had to keep up with a list of anything more than five, I would be worried about not giving time and attention to those people and things that I love.
What do you love?
