Dueling Dialects

  1. I love listening to my husband speak to his family and friends in Nigerian pigeon english. At first I had no idea what he was saying but I can understand him now, which helps when he thinks I’m not listening.lol

    1. Ha ha. I love it. You make sure he thinks you’re not listening. I am a sponge for dialects and accents. I love, love, love them. If I could, I would make sure everyone I spoke to every day had some kind of twist to their speech patterns. Funny how if you listen to it long enough you start to understand it. But can you speak it yet? 🙂

      1. I would love to hear that, you and your deep, man voice. Lol. You know, I speak in so many accents all the time I sometimes forget my own accent.

  2. i have noticed that I speak differently when I am with my sister. I don’t have to be so careful is how it seems to me. Otherwise it depends what language I am speaking and what is the other person’s native language.

      1. I speak English and French. I am studying Arabic but don’t speak it. I have studied Spanish and Breton but don’t really speak them either. And of course with singing one learns how to pronounce many languages.
