In the swirling uncertainty of this pandemic, I found writing to be my solace. Last year, as March ticked into April, and on through May, with so many questions but hardly any answers, I was holed up in my house, trying not to panic (and failing miserably), trying to handle rising anxiety the only way I’ve ever known how–through writing.
I had never tried my hand at a series before, but the second these characters made their way into my head, the moment they made themselves comfortable, they let me know they were staying for a while. So, I opened up a new file, and I wrote. I came up for air every little bit, and to eat, and to sleep, and to spend a little time with my family, but soon enough these characters became other family members for me, ones who were as familiar as my ratty old slippers.
Four books, and massive edits, later, the first book is finally available to purchase, from Amazon, in paperback and eBook formats. The Queen’s Legacy.
Penelope has always known she is meant to be queen, but as the time of her coronation draws closer she realizes just what that means. As she comes to grips with her past, present, and future, she also has to figure out a way to get her father’s approval, to find a suitable husband, and to make her peace with who she is as both a woman and the crown princess.
For James, helping his sister is the least of his problems, as he also struggles with growing into himself and his own place in the world. These thoughts threaten to tear him apart as war looms, both in the outside world and inside of the castle that used to be an impenetrable fortress.
Now, they both must go to extremes they had never dreamt of, in order to end up where they were always supposed to be, and to fulfill their mother’s legacy, fraught with its own complicated intrigue and dangerous secrets.
